A photo of a 51-year-old man generated uncontrollable traffic on social media when he competed in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event.
Although his partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, 24 got the silver medal in the intense showdown on Tuesday, July 30. People not only like his sharpshooting but also his calmness while shooting, which draws the attention of the audience. He remains quite relaxed when he takes a shoot with his gun. Actually, his body language appealed very much to the viewers.
Mostly, Olympic shooters come with ear protractors and special glasses that help them focus by blurring one eye. But this Turkish hitman proves that anything is possible without any equipment. He simply comes on his turn, keeps one hand in his pocket, and uses the other hand for shooting with the gun without any protective accessories.
His shooting style brought a flood of comments with full of admiration and stir on social media.

One ridiculously asked that Turkey send his hitman to the Olympics.
One added, “51-year-old Yusuf Dikec of Turkey shows up to the Olympics for shooting without special lenses… without ear protection… hand in his pocket & both eyes open… and casually takes home a silver medal.”
Yusuf’ was performing fifth time in the Olympic games. He appeared very first time in the Olympics 2008 in Beijing.
“I took up shooting sport after I started working as a non-commissioned officer for the Gendarmerie General Command,” he said
He also said he believes in this ”Success doesn’t come with your hands in your pockets.”
The 51-year-old man and his partner, Sevval barely missed the gold medal, with a final score of 16-14 in this Olympics. The gold medal was won by Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec while Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh from India won the bronze medal.
After getting the gold medal the talented shooter posted a message on Instagram :
“I am very happy that we have won the first Olympic medal in the history of the republic to my country,”
He said millions of people sent us with many prayers. He also said that they are the first in the history of a republic country who win the Olympic medal. He dedicates this award to the Republic of Turkey.
His partner, Sevval has spoken early about imperfection to be one of her country’s best athletes and to be a part of the Olympic games at least ten times.
She said in an interview last year:
“I want to be one of the greatest athletes in Turkiye. I want to be such a great athlete that my photo will be printed on the cover page of Times magazine. I want to participate in at least 10 Olympic Games and get medals in at least five of them. I want to show that women can achieve many things in this world,”
She also said that she does not believe in any particular rite for success but firmly believes in being a good person.
“I don’t believe in superstitions or rituals. Be a good person and think positively and everything will work out for you,” she said.
The 24-year-old young star said that her mother is her mentor in her life.
